Samsung’s Gear S3 currently has a giant advantage over the Galaxy Watch

Samsung updated its wearable brand last year with the launch of the all-new Galaxy Watch.

This refreshed smartwatch brought a swathe of changes including more power, longer battery life and an improved design which is now more robust and can last longer and deeper underwater.

Samsung also released a 4G cellular model which can access calls, texts and emails without the need for a phone in your pocket.

There’s clearly plenty of benefits with the new Galaxy Watch but the older Gear S3 does have one big advantage right now.

A new deal is currently offering a hefty discount on the S3 with prices cut by £50.

This means you can strap this device to your wrist for £205 which is almost £100 less than the new Galaxy Watch.

The offer comes from Currys who has just launched a major sale on their website which includes money off TVs, smart speakers and laptops.

As a reminder, the Gear S3 comes sporting 1.3-inch display, impressive four-day battery life and a design which can withstand being submerged in up to 1.5 meters or for 30 minutes.

The device will also monitor many of your daily activities and offers an instant reading of your current heart rate.

All of these features can be controlled by the unique rotating bezel which means you can access apps and settings without touching the screen.

The Galaxy Gear S3 comes in two designs with the Classic and Frontier models both available at this cheaper price.

It’s worth noting that along with Currys dropping the price of this smartwatch, Samsung has also reduced the cost in its big January sale.

If you still think the new Galaxy Watch is for you over this model then now is also a good time to invest in this new wearable.

Samsung is currently offering this device from £279 for the 42mm and £299 for the 46mm model.

Although these aren’t reduced prices the Korean firm is giving away a free wireless charger, worth £89 and customers can get up to £150 instant discount when they trade in their old watch.
