Search Amazon’s Bestseller Lists on This Site

“Search Best Sellers” is a shopping site that helps you find the bestseller lists for every product category on Amazon. As the site explains, while Amazon keeps a list for the most popular products in hundreds of categories, it doesn’t let you search for these lists. Search Best Sellers does.

Unlike most search results and Amazon pages, the category bestseller lists don’t contain ads or paid placement. They’re based on sales, not ratings (which are more easily faked). They’re the simplest way to pick a product out of a category, especially if you don’t have time to read recommendation sites like the Wirecutter.

The site is helpful if you’re not sure what exact category you’re looking for. Because Amazon breaks their products down into so many nested categories, searching for one category can help you find another more precise one. Search “hiking backpack” and you’ll get a link to the bestselling hiking backpacks, but also links to the best hiking daypacks, the best internal frame packs, and the best external frame packs. Search “bluetooth speakers” and you’ll see there are lists for indoor, outdoor, and portable speakers.

You’ll get similar results if you Google for “amazon bestselling [product category],” but Search Best Sellers includes small pictures of the bestselling product in each listed category, and it doesn’t include any similarly named Amazon pages that could trip you up.

There are two flaws to watch out for. One, you can’t easily make a search keyword for this site. Two, there seems to be a rate limiter that stops you for a few minutes after several searches. Let’s hope this site, which is still in beta, fixes both of those issues soon. Thanks to ads, fake ratings, automated “Amazon’s Choice” labels, and other bullshit cluttering the search results, it’s getting harder and harder to find the best Amazon products on Amazon itself.
